WHAT

The aim of FORUM is to combat the stigmatization of migrants and refugees, with special attention to the situation of women, through intercultural dialogues, increasing knowledge regarding EU policies and promoting a democratic and civic participation, particularly within groups that are less involved in the UE policy making-process.

Intercultural dialogues, increasing knowledge regarding EU policies and promoting democratic and civic participation.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  • To foster intercultural dialogues and to collect proposals to advocate with European institutions
  • To increase the knowledge regarding EU policies and values
  • To promote solidarity, volunteering and active participation in order to create cohesion and to respond to societal challenges
  • To strengthen civil society, local actors and organizations made up of, or engaged with, migrants and refugees

ACTIONS

A Kick-off Meeting organized in Granada, that  included a Project presentation to the Media.

Debates, conferences and roundtables, open to the public, focused on: the rise of the extremism; stigmatization of migrants and refugees; migration and asylum policies of the EU and members’ state; solidarity and EU citizenship participation to face the challenges of the EU.

Training activities implemented to provide a theoretical basis of knowledge, essential to subsequent praxis oriented activities through civic participation. Each partner develops training activities on the main project´s topics of civil society, especially for NGOs made up of migrant and refugee women. Discussion groups on EU migration and asylum policies, to foster critical analysis and  define recommendations for EU Policy briefs.

A network of volunteer trained to lead a political and advocacy campaigns.
